The 31-year-old has been a free agent since leaving Bayern Munich earlier in the summer, ending his eight-year association with the club.
Goretzka had been one of Bayern’s most important players during his time, but fell down the pecking order last season, starting 25 of his 31 Bundesliga games.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the midfielder has found his new club and will be signing for Unai Emery’s Aston Villa.
It’s understood the Spaniard was key to the process, convincing Goretzka to move to the Premier league side with a phone call.
Villa are now planning for Goretzka’s medical to be held early next week as he becomes the latest part of their summer rebuild.
