Sanchez Flores said on Saturday: "Last night I informed Jos Mara del Nido that I had made the decision not to continue in the team, a decision considered during difficult moments and taken once the objective was achieved.
"It seemed responsible to me to stay a few more days so that the team to maintain the competition levels without altering the course of what had been this last streak of good results and in any case it is a decision that saddens me because it has been a beautiful, painful story, which will remain in my heart forever for having been a long-suffering story full of emotions.
"I want to thank the players for the effort they have made to change the dynamic, which seemed to me at all times to be a very complex situation, with many aspects. I would like to thank them for the daily communication I have had with them. the president, always very frontal and very clear.
"To the sports management for their choice so that I could come to help Sevilla, we both did well with this decision. And many thanks to the Sevilla fans who have been enormously supporting us in moments of maximum difficulty, maximum adversity when it seemed that there was no ounce of hope for the team to come back and compete, and there always has been. I have enjoyed it to the fullest.
