Despite ongoing restructuring behind the scenes, the club remains satisfied with its direction and values the technical stability provided by Spalletti and his coaching staff.
“I’ve been telling you for weeks, even months, that Spalletti’s contract renewal wouldn’t be a problem, so I’m glad you no longer have to ask me about it,” Chiellini told Sky Sport Italia and DAZN Italia.
“We’re not particularly concerned about Milan’s result (today’s 3-0 defeat to Udinese); we’re focused on what we need to do, as there are other teams such as Atalanta, Como and Roma who are our direct rivals.
“The race may go down to the wire, so direct clashes like tonight’s game could be decisive, because there’s little margin for error.
“Atalanta are a strong side with excellent results, and they have the added advantage of home support tonight.”
