Speaking during a recent press conference, the Italian confirmed that the former Barcelona star is making steady progress following a calf injury, with the national team closely monitoring his condition.
“I think Neymar’s situation is very clear. He is doing excellent individual work. Tomorrow (Saturday) he will undergo an MRI, and if everything goes well, he will rejoin the main group next week,” Ancelotti told the media.
Neymar, Brazil’s all-time leading scorer, has faced recurring injury setbacks in recent years, but his inclusion in the 26-man World Cup squad sparked major excitement among supporters.
The forward was initially sidelined during early preparations after an MRI revealed a grade 2 calf issue.
However, Ancelotti remains optimistic, stressing that selection decisions will depend strictly on fitness levels rather than reputation.
