The Reds have secured Champions League football for another year.

Alisson said: "We are pleased. Of course we are not fully satisfied because we wanted to win and we fight to win the (Premier League) trophy. But we have to be honest with ourselves.

"I think we reach a really good level this season in terms of performances and a few times we didn't reach our proper level. I think we lack a little bit, to be honest, to be winning the trophy but reaching the Champions League is a huge success for us. I know in the world of football successful is only the one team who wins the trophy. In my perspective of life it's not only about that.

"It's about achieving goals (and) growing up as human beings (and) growing up as athletes. I believe so many good things. The young players, they step up at a really good level this season when we most needed them. The leadership group, all the players who needed to step up in different roles as well, we did it. Unfortunately, we couldn't win the title, but I'm happy that we have the spot in the Champions League for the next season. It's a big boost for us for what's coming."
