Postecoglou was impressed with how his team handled themselves over the course of last season.
While they missed out on the top four, Spurs did secure Europa League football in the Australian's first season in charge.
"One of the primary reasons I was brought in was to change the football and I think most people would agree that it has changed," the Australian stated this summer.
"I also knew we'd have some massive challenges in my first year, and we've had that as well. I think I have a really good handle now, having gone through good times and the adversity, of what it's going to take to get to the next step.
"I'm pretty confident we'll see our football on a more consistent basis, a lot more confident the group will able to sustain our levels of performance.
"For a lot of our players, this is their first year in the Premier League, or the first time here at Tottenham."
