Club legend Xabi Prieto has returned to Real Sociedad.

Real Sociedad made official this morning the return of Prieto to the club to serve as institutional representative.

It had been an open secret, since the former La Real captain had already been traveling with the team to important matches.

La Real describes his functions as: "His role will be to support all areas of the club, from the business area where he will support the strategies of the different business units such as, for example, internationalization or the relationship with the club's sponsors.

"He will also participate in the programs and activities that are being carried out from the social sphere of the Foundation, as well as in the institutional representation of the club in the relationship with other sports or institutional entities.

"He will functionally work in the Presidency area."
