RB Leipzig coach Rose praises players after Real Madrid draw: We just lacked....

RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose was left frustration after being eliminated from the Champions League at Real Madrid.

A 1-1 draw saw RBL lose the round 16 tie 2-1 on aggregate.

Rose said: "We had good chances and we played very well.

"It's very important to find a good balance in games like this, defending what you have to defend. We did it very well. Sometimes we pressed very high, we defended in depth. and we were good with the ball. It was a great performance from the team.

"Unfortunately we didn't score enough goals. In the end they scored two goals and we only scored one. We fell short, which means we are very disappointed to be out of the competition. The boys today showed that they wanted more, they wanted to move forward.

"What was missing? We have a lot of quality in many roles and we are scoring a lot of goals in the league. Maybe we lack a little experience in some situations, or the peace of mind that comes from experience. And then sometimes you need a bit of luck, this is also part of the game.

"At times today we felt like we had the same numbers as them. I respect Real Madrid a lot, the whole team, and I congratulate them on progressing to the next round. But I have to repeat my praise for my team. To come here in a knockout match, with the result of the first leg, and to show that you really believe in it, is something extraordinary."
