More Turkish football woe as Super Cup ends in farce

Turkish football is facing an unprecedented crisis after the Turkish Super Cup lasted just one minute.

Fenerbahce, who were taking on Galatasaray, fielded an under-19 side in protest of the Turkish Football Federation.

Per Goal Turkey, Fener wanted foreign referees to take charge of the game.

The Istanbul giants have felt that several of their games in recent years have been decided against them by poor refereeing decisions.

The source added that Fener were hoping to play the game on a date further away from their Europa Conference League match against Olympiacos.

The game only lasted one minute, after which Mauro Icardi scored for Gala and the Fener youngsters walked off and abandoned the game.
