Man Utd defender Sonny Aljofree blocked from dream debut

Manchester United defender Sonny Aljofree has been blocked from a dream debut.

United sources say Aljofree would've been involved in the past month given the club's defensive injury problems, says The Sun.

But the 19-year-old has been on a joint registration deal with National League side Altrincham since February 1 - which means he can play for United's U21s, but not the first team.

Aljofree is the son of former Swindon and Dundee player Hasney.

The likes of Willy Kambwala and Habeeb Ogunneye have stepped up to cover senior defensive absentees.
