Man Utd co-owner Ratcliffe favouring Ten Hag staying

Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is now leaning towards backing manager Erik ten Hag next season.

ESPN says a lack of top class available alternatives and the problems that need to be addressed has Ratcliffe now favouring keeping hold of the Dutchman.

The financial factor is also being weighed up, with Ratcliffe's team moving to slash expenses. Sacking Ten Hag and his staff and hiring a replacement will cost the club millions.

Ten Hag has guided United to a second consecutive FA Cup final. However, likely Europa League qualification falls short of season expectations.

United were held 1-1 at home by Burnley yesterday.
