Manchester City managed one of their most controlled games of the year in midweek.

That is the view of hat-trick hero Phil Foden, who spoke after a 4-1 routing of Aston Villa.

Despite losing to the Midlands club earlier this season, City were at it from the go on Wednesday and ran away with the three points.

“Delighted with the result," the England international told reporters.

“I thought the performance was at a very high level, and I think it was one of our most controlled games this year against a top side as well, so I'm delighted with the result."

“[It's] very enjoyable, but very challenging," he added on the run in.

“So many games in a short period of time you have to always be ready and live your life right to make sure you're ready for the game, so this is the important part of the season now."
