Burnley keeper Muric's own goal dubbed 'inconceivable'

Former England defender Martin Keown was stunned by Aro Muric's howler in Burnley's draw with Brighton.

The Burnley goalkeeper conceded an own goal in the 1-1 result.

Keown told BBC Sport: “He is competent in possession. But for some reason – and this is as true a back pass as you will see – he tries to put his foot on the ball.

“There's no bobble, no bounce and it has gone straight through.

“It's inconceivable for a professional goalkeeper to do that. It's your worst nightmare."

Assistant manager Craig Bellamy said: “It's not his mistake, it's our mistake. Do we call it a mistake? I don't know. It's how we play. It ain't going to change.

“It's how we play football. It might not please everyone. We're not here to please everyone, but we believe in this way of football. It might be naive, I don't know."
