Barzagli backing Sarri for Fiorentina

Former Juventus defender and coach Andrea Barzagli would like to see Maurizio Sarri take charge of Fiorentina.

Vincenzo Italiano is expected to leave Fiorentina at the end of the season.

Florence-born Barzagli told DAZN: "If I have to propose a name for Fiorentina I would say Sarri.

"Palladino, Aquilani and Sarri are different profiles. Aquilani has a good relationship with the owners and in recent years we have seen these courageous choices, like Palladino in Monza. I hope he can still remain, Italiano, otherwise I wouldn't know because they are different profiles.

"Sarri is Sarri, Aquilani teases me and Palladino will stay in Monza for me in the end.

"Italiano at Napoli? He proposes a purposeful game and plays with the wingers, which is Napoli's strength. Napoli would find the right coach, despite his profile being different from Conte and Pioli."
