Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has refused to answer a question regarding getting information on Bayern Munich.

Arteta was asked whether he spoke with close friend Xabi Alonso about beating the German champions.

Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen are top of the Bundesliga this season and are only a handful of points away from the title.

"I'm not going to answer that," he said in his pre-match conference ahead of Tuesday's fixture against Bayern in the Champions League.

On Bayern, Arteta said: "Top team. I'm a big fan and big admirer of Thomas [Tuchel], his teams, the way they setup and play, what they transmit.

“I've learned a lot about him and looking at Bayern, when you analyze them deeply, you see why they're a top team.

"We've prepared very well and we have to take our game where we want it. If we do that we have a chance to win."
