Yeremy Pino is set to miss the rest of the 2026 World Cup with a suspected broken collarbone.

The Crystal Palace winger was injured late on during Spain’s narrow 1-0 victory over Uruguay on Saturday, and Spain’s staff now fear Pino’s tournament is over, as per Marca

Pino completed the match for La Roja, despite being in considerable pain, as manager Luis de la Fuente had used all of his substitutions.

De la Fuente discussed the severity of Pino’s injury after full-time.

"Unfortunately, it could be a collarbone injury, and we'll see; he'll have tests done tomorrow.

“The man is suffering a lot, and the effort he made to play through the end of the match was tremendous; it was heroic. I'm very grateful, and his teammates even more so,“ he said.

The Uruguay match brought about another injury blow for Spain, as Nico Williams pulled up with a suspected groin injury in the 75th minute.

Williams had already been nursing an injury heading into the tournament, and was seen limping after full-time, which has cast doubts over his fitness heading into the knockouts.

Spain topped Group H on seven points with two wins and a draw, as they look ahead to a last-32 fixture next Thursday in Los Angeles against either Algeria or Austria.

The EURO 2024 champions will be hoping that their star player Lamine Yamal will be fit and firing, as the Barcelona winger's minutes have also been limited following his return from a hamstring injury.
