The 36-year-old was a surprise inclusion in Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the World Cup but did manage to get some minutes in the 2-0 win over Panama.
Highly regarded by his teammates, Henderson was largely included to help the rest of the England squad off the pitch.
Following a gruelling 3-2 win over Mexico in the round of 16, Henderson slipped while climbing over one of the advertising boards, breaking his wrist.
Reflecting on the injury, Henderson told ITV: "It's alright, thanks. Not my finest hour but the main job was to go there and win and progress to the quarterfinal, and we managed to do that so that's the main thing.
"It's been a little bit of a tough couple of days but as soon as I came back to camp, seeing the lads, we've got a great medical team, I'm thankful for that."
