Lecce president Saverio Sticchi Damiani is confident Francesco Camarda will make a big impact this season.

The teenage striker is on a season-long loan at Lecce from AC Milan.

Sticchi Damiani said: "We have an excellent relationship with the AC Milan management. I think the boy was sent to us because they know we're not afraid to take risks with young players.

"The fact that he was born in 2008 doesn't penalise him; on the contrary, we're proud to be able to give him confidence and consistency. So much so that he started in the first match of the season. I think Francesco is already settled in; here, football is still provincial in the best sense of the word, a family-like, healthy environment where he can grow."

Meanwhile, on Lecce's progress over the past 12 months, Sticchi Damiani was bullish.

He also told Tuttosport: "A fourth year in Serie A? It has never happened before, and for me, as president, it is a source of great pride. A fourth consecutive Serie A title is an event that has never happened in all our history, it is a huge joy. We would like to improve further, surpassing ourselves, like an athlete who tries to beat his personal best every time."
