Former Turkey assistant coach Nedim Yigit feels Juventus are holding back Kenan Yildiz.

Turkey midfielder Yildiz extended his contract with Juve last week.

But Yigit, now Antalyaspor youth director, says Yildiz needs better players around him for the youngster to reach his potential.

He told TMW: "Kenan Yildiz is a very popular and closely followed figure in Turkey, and he's clearly on the right path to becoming an icon.

"However, Juventus' current squad isn't among the best in the club's history. Considering the quality of the team and their overall level of play, it seems rather difficult for this team, in its current situation, to elevate a player to the level of one of the best in the world.

"Although Juventus is physically strong, their lack of creative players is quite evident. It wouldn't be wrong to say that their central midfielders aren't effective enough in terms of creativity and chance creation.

"Supporting runs into the inside and outside channels are crucial, especially to maximize Kenan Yıldız's ability in 1-on-1 situations, but this aspect is noticeably weak in Juventus's game. As a result, the team becomes rather predictable in attack."
