Juventus striker Vlahovic comes off contract at the end of the season and talks over a new deal are yet to kickoff in earnest.
Instead, the Serba international is expected to leave Juve this summer.
And Ilic, who worked with Vlahovic at Red Star Belgrade and has remained close, told Tuttosport: "As far as I'm concerned, he'll go to Barcelona.
"Before Juventus, he had spoken with Atlético Madrid. But he chose the Bianconeri. It was an offer he couldn't refuse."
Ilic was, and continues to be, a very important person in Dusan Vlahovic 's career after they began working together during the pandemic.
"We started working together in 2021. We continued training in isolation for over a year. He already had a personal trainer. He and I focused on the nutritional aspects."
He added, "I am not the coach of the Serbian national team and I have not had contact with Dusan Vlahovic for quite some time; I am only expressing my opinion, I have no specific information."
