Campedelli says Chievo had Drogba lined up before he left Marseille for Chelsea.

He recalled to La Gazzetta dello Sport: "In 2002, Drogba had already signed for Chievo. The only condition was the sale of Eriberto and (Christian) Manfredini, but it didn't materialise."
It wasn't the only high profile miss Campedelli experienced with Chievo.
He also revealed, "In 2006, (Edinson) Cavani trained with us, but according to (then sports director Giovanni) Sartori and some members of the coaching staff, he wasn't worth the €500,000 expense."
