"Not one, but two: I'm fond of (Andriy) Shevchenko, but (Marco) Van Basten was a real discovery," he told Il Resto del Carlino.
Regarding the former Ukraine striker, he recalled: "He was already well-known, but we couldn't make a mistake. Every time I saw him, he did extraordinary things.
"I told him: 'Come to AC Milan and you'll win the Ballon d'Or.' And so it was."
On Van Basten, Braida also said: "I saw him in Amsterdam, he only made decisive plays. It was love at first sight."
