Man United manager Ruben Amorim has detailed what went wrong in their frustrating 1-1 Premier League draw with Fulham on Sunday (August 24).

Captain Bruno Fernandes had the chance to give the visitors the lead from the spot just before half-time but put it well above Bernd Leno’s crossbar.

Rodrigo Muniz’s own goal from Leny Yoro’s header finally broke the deadlock in the 58th minute before Emile Smith Rowe restored parity in the 78th.

Man United are without a win in their first two Premier League games of the new season with Ruben Amorim still struggling at the helm

Speaking to the press after the game, Amorim lamented his side’s failure to kill off the game at Craven Cottage.

He said: “I think we scored the goal and then we forgot about how we play. We want to win so badly, and that is a good feeling, that we scored a goal and everyone on the pitch was thinking, ‘Let’s hold onto the advantage and try to win the game’.”

“For me that is the moment that we have to enjoy more and push the opponent. We tried to press the opponent super high and left a lot of space.”

“We have to grow up a lot as a team. For me the most important thing is that during the week they were working really hard, today we worked really hard, and we are going to improve.”
