Levy was appointed to the Board in December 2000 and is currently the longest serving Chairman of any Premier League football club in what is an impressive feat despite his love hate relationship with fans over the past 2 decades.
Now, as per The Standard he is set to receive the Freedom of the City of London due to his significant contributions to the city throughout his time as Tottenham chairman which includes lifting the Conference League last season as Spurs defeated Manchester United 1-0 in the final.
Levy was nominated at a City of London meeting yesterday and is expected to receive the honour at a ceremony at Guildhall later this year in celebrations of his achievement. He also oversaw the building of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and stated recently that he aims to make the club Premier League champions over the next few seasons.
The award is presented to individuals for outstanding contributions to London or significant achievements and his nomination may never have come if Tottenham didn’t lift a trophy in Bilbao despite finishing 17th in the league table.
