Salah will play his 442nd and final game for the club this weekend as Liverpool welcome Brentford to Anfield for the last game of what has been a miserable campaign.

The 33-year-old has established himself as a club legend and will leave with tears in his eyes on Sunday afternoon in what will be a very emotional evening.

Salah will depart as the third-highest goalscorer of all time at Anfield on 257 and ahead of his final game on Merseyside, he sent a message to his teammates as he explained when the club are at their lowest.

"I don't want to be emotional today, because tomorrow is going to be an emotional day," Salah said. "But, I really appreciate every moment I've had at this club. I've had a great time with all of you, and it's something I will take with me in the future, so thank you very much. Hopefully, I'll see you soon again."

"Wait, one more thing I want to say. Being in Liverpool, winning for Liverpool and winning games is the best thing that could happen to you. I think this is the best club in the world when you win something and the worst club in the world when you lose. So you better win next year."

The Egyptian king will go trophyless this season after a dire campaign under manager Arne Slot. He will be feeling that the club are at a new low under the Dutchman who could step down heading into the new season as reports suggest meetings about his future are underway.
