Arsenal are top of both the Premier League and Champions League as they prepare to face Chelsea this weekend. Arteta has never won either competition and will be hoping to lock down at least one trophy while his side are in unbelievable form.
Arteta has evolved significantly over the past few years, outwitting teams with set piece tactics which have baffled many sides this year. Speaking this week, Saha admits that he believes that Arteta could reach the heights of Wenger as his side continue to dominate.
“I think this is the year because when you look at the squad, when you look at the talent, what they have, it's the most complete squad in the league. He has built confidence around it.
“I think Mikel has proven that he’s a top manager… sometimes he has made mistakes in communication, but it’s normal to make mistakes as a young manager. I think now he can prove his critics wrong and show he has learned his lessons.
"He could be a legend like Wenger, and he wants to see the team winning leagues in the same way. They have matched the quality of Wenger’s teams, but not their ability to win titles. That’s their goal next.”
Arsenal have an excellent record against Chelsea under Arteta, winning five of their last seven Premier League meetings and drawing the other two. A win is imperative for Arteta who will aim to extend their lead at the top of the league and establish himself in the history books.
