The 49-year-old was tasked with saving Leicester City from relegation last December following an impressive spell as Man United’s interim manager.
Van Nistelrooy ended up with just five wins across his 27 games at the helm, losing 19 and drawing the other three.
Despite his dismal record in the Premier League, ESPN analyst Karim El Ahmadi believes he should be considered for the vacant FC Twente job following the sacking of Joseph Oosting
Speaking on Dutch outlet PSV Inside, he said: “Ruud van Nistelrooij is also available. Would he do it?
“I’ve hardly heard his name mentioned. He’s someone with experience. He’s been at Manchester United, Leicester City, and a full year at PSV. I think he would want to do it. He’s a true fan, and FC Twente isn’t a small club.”
