It has since been revealed that the head coach had a huge falling out with sporting director Jason Wilcox ahead of their trip to Elland Road.
Now, according to a reported from The Sun, it’s come out that Amorim had “told friends he was resigning” after his row with Wilcox.
Amorim ultimately changed his mind following discussions with agent Raul Costa, but was sacked just days later.
