After handing in his transfer request over a week ago, Isak has spent some days in San Sebastian, Spain, using the training the facilities of former club Real Sociedad.
The Sweden international saw a £110m bid from Liverpool rejected by Newcastle in the last 48 hours. The Toon are insisting he won't leave for less than £150m.
The Athletic's David Ornstein is now reporting today: "Alexander Isak coming back to UK amd will resume training at Newcastle United.
"NUFC squad returning from Asia pre-season tour missed by 25yo striker. Liverpool saw offer for Sweden int’l rejected but interest ongoing."
Toon manager Eddie Howe admitted this morning that he was learning of Isak's whereabouts from the press.
Newcastle have today made an offer of £70m to RB Leipzig for Benjamin Sesko, a potential replacement for Isak.
