Morgan Gibbs-White has turned down interest from Tottenham to sign a new long-term contract with Nottingham Forest.

Tottenham had activated the ‘secret’ £60 million release clause in the 25-year-old’s contract, leading Forest to threaten them with legal action over what they perceived to be an ‘illegal’ approach.

Nottingham Forest have now confirmed that they have tied Gibbs-White down to a new three-year deal at the club.

The club have stated that it is a ‘record deal’ although there are no further details about the England international’s new contract.

Gibbs-White played a key role for Forest last season, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists in his 38 games across all competitions.
