Gordon and Woltemade have scored seven of the nine goals Newcastle have scored in the Premier League and Champions League between now and the last international break as the pair develop a close relationship.
Newcastle paid £69M to sign the Germany international to replace Alexander Isak who joined Liverpool this summer in a record-breaking deal. The 6ft 6in striker has impressed fans and pundits so far however, as many try to forget Isak altogether.
Speaking to the media ahead of England’s clash with Wales on Thursday night, Gordon explained why he thinks Germany international Woltemade's game is similar to the Three Lions’ top scorer Kane.
"I think they do play a very similar style of football, in terms of they want to almost be the quarterback - they want to come in and create, they don't just want to finish the chances like a typical striker would do," he said.
"The amount of assists Harry's got over the past couple of years and over his career is outstanding.
"For me, personally, I think it helps me - I think my style suits playing with that style of striker, because I can run off them.
"If defenders want to go and engage with them, I can run off the back, so I think it's really positive for me and I really enjoy it."
Woltemade has now matched Alan Shearer and Les Ferdinand by scoring in each of his first three home Premier League games at Newcastle. He continues to find the back of the net for The Magpies who will hope he grows into a player like Kane over the next few years.
