Everton boss David Moyes is delighted with their form going to Wolves on Saturday.

The Toffees travel to Molineux on the back of a Carabao Cup win against Mansfield and victory in the Premier League over Brighton last weekend.

Moyes said, "It was a really good victory against Brighton. Brighton are a very good side and never easy to play against. To get the first win was great, and obviously to back it up with a cup win in midweek, which is never easy.

"We're pleased to get through.

"The best teams in the Premier League tend to have the best defensive records, as well. We've got that and we had that last season. I'm trying to build on us scoring more goals and to see if we can make more chances when we can. We didn't do it in pre-season. We've had to bring in players who can do it."

Pleased with Grealish

Moyes admits he's been delighted with the early impact of Jack Grealish. The Manchester City loanee has already expressed how much he has enjoyed his first weeks with the Toffees.

His manager said: "He's a real talent and someone we're hoping can get back to the levels he's produced before. He's helped us already.

"I hope we can continue to build on it, get him fitter stronger, and used to playing again."

Wolves a very good team

On going to Wolves, Moyes insists there'll be no underestimating a team yet to win in the league so far this season.

He said, "I think Wolves have got a good side and the manager is doing a good job. They've got some very good players.

"We go to Wolves knowing we've got a difficult game."

Moyes says the presence of Iliman Ndiaye will be crucial for the visitors. The Scot admits he's been delighted with what the striker has shown so far this season.

He continued: "Versatility is a big part of football now. It's more relevant in modern-day football than it's ever been.

"It wasn't by design we had to play (James Garner at left-back against Brighton). It was through injuries and different things. Ili is different. Ili can play off the right or left, it doesn't really matter to Ili."

Market hopes

Before ending his media conference, Moyes raised the prospect of more additions being made before Monday's transfer deadline. While pleased with his squad, the Scot would welcome another couple of signings coming through the doors.

He said, "We could (make more signings). But I don't want to raise all the expectations all the time. Whether we get anything over the line by Monday night, I couldn't be sure of that yet.

"Since we beat Newcastle on the last game of the season I have been working on recruitment and found it a really difficult summer. We have had a lot of players who have chosen not to come and we have had to work really hard to get enough players in.

"Our squad numbers are small. But if things change before Monday then that would be good."

On Harrison Armstrong's future, Moyes concluded: "Everton requires everyone to come with a brilliant character, committed... the players are very strong here and anyone who comes in has to bring that.

"Plenty of teams" are trying to take Armstrong on loan. Moyes sees a lot of potential but he is weighing up how many games he can give him. He is taking AFCON in January into account in his thinking.

"We were really pleased with how he played. He is looking a very good future Everton player," he added.
