Club-to-club negotiations between Arsenal and Villa are expected to accelerate following the World Cup as Rogers returns to England ahead of preseason which begins in a few weeks time.
Rogers' transfer is expected to cost more than £100M, especially as Elliot Anderson secured a move to Manchester City for around £116M, boosting the price of every other deal.
Manager Mikel Arteta is desperate to add attacking depth to his side this summer and as he chases Rogers and Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez, Monreal has spoken to BetBrothers about how they should not give up on Rogers.
“Morgan Rogers is one of those players that Arsenal should look to sign for whatever price. He's young and he did unbelievably last season for Villa.
“He's already one of the best players in the league and in the future he's going to continue being that because he's special. He has something very special.
On Arsenal’s style of play that Rogers will adapt to: “I think Arsenal have to continue doing exactly what they did last season. They were the champions. They were the best team in many different areas. Defensively, I think they were the best. In set pieces, they were the best. And if you can get a lot of points from set pieces, you have to continue doing that, don’t try and chance.
“I know people were at the end of the season a bit annoyed because they scored over 20 goals from set pieces, but this is football.”
Despite Monreal’s pleas, Villa have made it clear they do not want to sell Rogers and they are in a strong negotiating position after the forward signed a new contract, running until 2031.
