Man Utd resume new contract talks with Mainoo

With Michael Carrick reinstating Mainoo into the starting XI, the midfielder has shone in victories over Manchester City, Arsenal and Fulham.

Having been on the outer under former manager Ruben Amorim, the England midfielder is now feeling happier about his future at Old Trafford.

The Manchester Evening News says United are now resuming talks over a new deal with Mainoo, confident an agreement can be reached quickly.

Mainoo is still on the deal he signed as a teenager three years ago. He remains one of the lowest paid players in the senior squad.

The 20 year-old's current deal runs to 2027 with an option for another year.
