Gremio talent Luis Eduardo Guedes de Souza has been making headlines in recent weeks as he continues to be linked with several top clubs, including Chelsea and United who are likely to enter a bidding war for the teenager.
Spanish publication AS reports that United are looking at Eduardo after his standout Under-17s World Cup performances, where he bagged twice en route to the title with Brazil.
The teenager turns 18 on the 16th next month, which is the date he will be eligible for a move abroad. This means as soon as the January transfer window opens, clubs will be quick to make their bids for the upcoming defender.
Luis Eduardo has featured 13 times for Brazil U17 in 2025, scoring three goals. He currently stands at 1.88m and is currently under contract with Gremio until 2028 which has a release clause of €60m (£52.7M).
Reports state that European clubs are eager to secure him before he becomes a mainstay in senior professional football, and United could place a bid on January 16th to steal him away before the likes of Chelsea close in.
