Saturday's goalless draw with Sunderland in the Premier League saw United keep another clean sheet under interim manager Michael Carrick who has completely revived the Red Devils since taking over from Ruben Amorim.
The draw was enough to move the 20-time English champions six points clear of fourth-placed Liverpool in the Premier League table in what has been a remarkable turn around.
Key defender Yoro has already made over 60 appearances for the Red Devils following his £52M move from Lille in 2024 and has become integral to a United defence who will play in the Champions League next season.
Maguire says Yoro's future is bright
Carrick, if he stays as the permanent manager next season, will rely on Yoro alongside Maguire as the club’s key defensive partnership. Maguire, who is a huge fan of Yoro, could not help praising the 20 year old who he believes has a bright future.
"Leny Yoro has all the attributes, the talent, and the potential to have whatever career he wants. It’s exceptional to see someone playing centre-back in the Premier League at his age, especially at a club like Manchester United.
“He’s doing an amazing job and there is still so much more he can improve on. Hopefully, in 10 or 15 years’ time, we’re sitting here putting his name in that bracket of the all-time greats.
"I’ve been very impressed with Ayden Heaven since he broke into the team. In five or six years’ time, I believe he and Leny Yoro could be the central defensive partnership for this club. The talent is there; now it’s down to them to keep working hard and pushing. They both have amazing futures ahead of them here."
United have been linked with the likes of Micky van de Ven from Tottenham, Brazilian Murillo from Nottingham Forest, and Frenchman Castello Lukeba from RB Leipzig, but Yoro’s place in the side looks secure as he continues to evolve into a world-class talent.
