West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta will learn his FA punishment for misconduct, even after being cleared of any involvement in spot-fixing allegations.

The 28-year-old was accused of deliberately picking up bookings to aid suspicious betting patterns during several West Ham games last year.

Paqueta was on the verge of completing an £85 million move to then Premier League champions Man City, a deal that ultimately fell through due to the allegations.

The Brazilian was facing the possibility of a lengthy suspension but, in July, Paqueta was officially cleared of the most damaging claims.

He isn’t out of the woods just yet, however. Two lesser accusations stuck, and the FA have determined that Paqueta had failed to provide full and proper answers during questioning.

The midfielder’s apparent lack of cooperation means he is likely to receive a hefty fine from English football’s governing body.
