According to reports, Leeds want to capture someone to rival their current crop, including Jaka Bijol, Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk, with Lutsharel Geertruida emerging as a target.

Geertruida is currently on loan at Sunderland from RB Leipzig, although they've declined the chance to sign him permanently for £20m, with this news putting several clubs on red alert.

Leeds are one of them, and they're joined by Aston Villa, Everton and Crystal Palace, as well as clubs from Italy, Germany, France and Spain, as per journalist Ekrem Konur.

The Dutchman has impressed in 26 top-flight appearances since moving to the Stadium of Light on loan, with his versatility being a standout trait.

Deployed as either a right-back or centre-back, Geertruida has previously been compared to the legendary Sergio Ramos by the Bundesliga official website

"Much like Real Madrid legend Ramos, Geertruida is just as comfortable at right-back, centre-back or even in midfield. One thing is for certain: wherever he plays, he’s sure to entertain," they wrote.

"Geertruida is an attacking threat from all three positions and is a player who loves a one-on-one duel, whether that’s stopping a striker running at goal, or tricking his way past an attacker before springing out of defence."

The 25-year-old has certainly displayed why he's been likened to Ramos, and evidence suggests he would be a great signing for Leeds or any Premier League club.
