Arsenal legend Ian Wright has named Jay-Jay Okocha as the most underrated player in Premier League history.

Widely regarded as Bolton’s greatest player, the former Nigeria international dazzled despite not winning major trophies, with his closest success coming in the 2003–04 League Cup final loss to Middlesbrough.

He helped Bolton avoid relegation in his debut season and played a key role in their sixth-place finish in 2004–05.

Speaking on The Overlap, Wright said Okocha’s impact and natural ability deserved far greater recognition among Premier League greats.

“Jay-Jay Okocha,” Wright said.

“He should have got much more love. Bolton!”
