The France international was stretchered off in Liverpool's 2-0 UEFA Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in April with tests and surgery bringing down the curtain on a strong first year in English football.
Despite missing the final month of the campaign, the 24-year-old still ended the season as Liverpool's top scorer, with 17 goals bagged across all competitions.
The injury also wrecked his chances of representing France at his first FIFA World Cup with Didier Deschamps' side dominating the tournament so far in North America.
Estimates over when Ekitike will be back in action vary, but it's unlikely he will play again before the end of 2026, and the former Eintracht Frankfurt forward is ready for the challenge ahead.
"I wish I was there at the World Cup, but that's life. I am where I am, and sometimes everybody has to deal with stuff," he told an interview with British GQ.
"That's my challenge and I accept it, so I’m happy for them and I hope they're going to reach the final, win it, and bring the cup back to France."
Liverpool kick off their new season under Andoni Iraola on August 23 with a trip to St. James' Park to take on Newcastle United.
