Man City boss Pep Guardiola has lifted the lid on what his tense looking exchange with Erling Haaland after their 3-2 Premier League win over Leeds was about.

Haaland, 25, was largely anonymous throughout the game, having the fewest number of touched from any player who completed 90 minutes with 25.

The big Norwegian appeared to be in a heated on-field conversation with Guardiola after the game, and the Spaniard has not revealed what he said.

Guardiola told BBC Sport: “He’ll do it (get his 100th goal) next game.

“Just we talk about rest. He has a huge body. Minutes, minutes, in that moment you’re fresh.

“Rest (is) not just the legs (pointing to his head). It’s not like Phil or Jeremy (Doku), they can rest. Erling is a big man. We need him so much.”
