Earlier this week reports suggested that United are not interested in a swap deal involving Garnacho and Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson as the club target RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko who would displace Jackson if he were to join the side.
The 21-year-old is free to leave however and the Argentina international is not in the plans of Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim who is keen to cash in on the winger so he can reinvest the funds elsewhere this summer. Now, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano Garnacho is keen on the move to West London as the two sides enter negotiations.
“Alejandro Garnacho, keen on joining Chelsea.
“It was his priority in January and he’s still keen on the move this summer.
“Chelsea considering to bid later this month for Garnacho as said for weeks… and he’s waiting for Chelsea as priority despite bids from abroad.”
The Blues have held talks over signing RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons however which could dissuade them from making a move for Garnacho who has 26 goals in 144 appearances for the club. Chelsea are not believed to be willing to pay more than £30M, while United have already allegedly dropped their £70M valuation to around the £45M mark as they desperately try to offload him.
Garnacho’s preference is to remain in the Premier League and he has been linked with both Chelsea and Aston Villa who will be hoping to sign a replacement for Marcus Rashford who flourished at the side whilst on loan last season.
