Fulham have reached an agreement on personal terms with Nigeria defender Chibuike Nwaiwu as they continue their push to sign the highly rated centre-back from Trabzonspor.

The Premier League club have identified the 22-year-old as a key defensive target this summer and remain determined to complete a deal despite the Turkish team rejecting two previous offers.

According to Foot Mercato, Nwaiwu has agreed a four-year contract with Alvaro Arbeloa’s side, leaving the clubs to negotiate a transfer fee.

Trabzonspor are demanding at least €30 million for the Nigerian international, who joined the Turkish club from Wolfsberger AC in January.

Nwaiwu impressed during his first months in Turkey, making 21 appearances, scoring three goals and providing one assist.
