The visitors fought back from 3–1 down, scoring twice in quick succession to level the match, only to be denied late on by Tammy Abraham.
Rigg had earlier equalised at 1–1 at Villa Park with a superb curling finish inside the box.
“I’m really proud to get my first Premier League goal, it’s things you dream of,” Rigg said.
“I always try my best to help the team. Unfortunate not to get something from the game.
“We’re gutted in the dressing room because we knew we had the game there for us. Even if it was a point or three points.
“It is a gutting feeling but we’ll bounce back stronger.
“Five big games to go and we’ll do everything for the fans to get something for them.”
