Stung by Liverpool's swoop for their teen starlet Rio Ngumoha, Chelsea are targeting Abe in part out of revenge.
Abe is so highly rated inside Liverpool that on Thursday he enjoyed a first call-up to senior training by manager Arne Slot.
He also made his debut in the UEFA Youth League last month in Liverpool's defeat to MKS Zilina in front of over 10,000 fans.
Abe made his U18 debut in September and already has five goals and two assists in the U18 Premier League North.
Watching his progress are Chelsea, which are drawing up plans to tempt Abe and his family south before he is eligible to pen scholarship forms.
