Arsenal receive Riccardo Calafiori injury boost after double Arteta blow

Calafiori, 23, was forced to leave the Italy camp ahead of their final World Cup qualifier at home to Norway on Sunday (November 16).

The news came hours before fellow Arsenal defender Gabriel limped off in Brazil’s 2-0 friendly win over Senegal, leaving Arteta sweating.

Now, according to the Mirror, Calafiori’s injury isn’t as bad as first expected and he should still be available for the North London derby in their first game after the international break.

Arteta is still waiting to learn the severity of Gabriel’s injury, meaning one of Calafiori, Piero Hincapie, or Cristhian Mosquera could partner William Saliba vs Tottenham.
