The Seleção face Morocco, Scotland and Haiti in a relatively easy Group C for the tournament’s first stage where the South American side are the favourites to progress.

Not since 2002 have Brazil won the World Cup and this year they will be hoping to go all the way for the first time in over two decades.

Are Brazil the favourites?

Speaking ahead of their friendly against France, Vini Jr was asked if his side are the favourites to win the tournament.

“We are NOT the favourites to win the World Cup”.

“We want to bring Brazil where it deserves. Do not talk about favourites”.

Brazil boss Carlo Ancelotti is preparing for his first World Cup as a manager where he has decided to leave out the nation’s all-time top scorer.

Should Ancelotti leave out Neymar?

Vinicius was asked about the omission and backed Ancelotti to do what’s right for the team despite criticism and backlash from the media.

“Neymar is among my biggest idols! He’s trying it all to be at 100% form and to be back with Brazil squad”.

“The decision is up to the coach, but we always want to play with the best, and Neymar is among them”.

Brazil and France face eachother at the Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts on Thursday in a game that could represent what the World Cup final could look like. Vinicius clearly backs Ancelotti and wants to brush off pressure of being favourites as soon as possible heading into the tournament as his nation aims to make history.
