A change of agents saw Bayern Munich miss out on a cut-price deal for Barcelona superkid Lamine Yamal.

BILD says in 2022, Bayern's then sporting director, Hasan Salihamidzic, met with Lamine Yamal 's agent, Iván de la Peña, to try to secure his signing.

During the meeting, Salihamidzic agreed terms over a deal extending to 2023 for just €5 million. Yamal was still on junior forms, which meant Bayern would only have to cough up a compensation fee to ferry the teen away from Barca and Spain.

Before the transfer was finalised, the player switched agents and became part of Jorge Mendes' stable.

Mendes, unsure of the deal, decided to break the agreement. Furthermore, the player was then handed the chance to debut with FC Barcelona 's first team and ultimately opted to remain with the Blaugrana.
