Many are calling for Spain coach Luis de la Fuente to select Milla ahead of the summer's World Cup.
Outstanding for Getafe this season, Milla said: “I don’t know if I’m on the preliminary list or not, but it excites me that people might think I’m one of the players who could make the final squad.
"It’s incredibly exciting to have an opportunity like that, because it’s the greatest thing that can happen to a player. Beyond that, I try not to let these things affect my day-to-day life, because the work you do at your club is what gets you there.
"I’m focused and eager to keep doing things well for the team.”
He added, “The desire isn’t just mine. I understand that for every national player, making the national team is the ultimate goal.
"If I were to go, the excitement, the ambition, and the desire to be able to help my country in such an important event is something very special. I hope that day comes.”
