The Senegalese defender has signed a five-year contract that will keep him at the Spanish club until June 2031.
“The 24-year-old centre-back arrives on a free transfer from French side Le Havre. The club are delighted to announce the signing of central defender Arouna Sangante,” the Laliga club wrote.
“The Senegalese player, 24, born in Mbao, joins from French club Le Havre, signing as a free agent. The 189cm defender can also operate as a right-back.
“Sangante arrives in Nervion to begin his first experience away from the French club, which he joined at just 15 years old after a brief spell at Parisian sides Cosmos Saint-Denis and Red Star FC.
“After progressing through the youth ranks, he made his league debut for Le Havre’s first team in the 2020/21 season, featuring on the final matchday against Troyes. Four months earlier, he had already made his debut in the Coupe de France against Paris FC.”
